Following more than ten seasons showing at Stockholm Fashion Week, Spring Summer 15 saw Tiger of Sweden, move their catwalk show to London. A Scandinavian brand with a different clean cut, high quality materials and a proud attitude.
Tiger of Sweden is no newcomer! The company was founded 1903 in the Swedish town Uddevalla, by the tailors Markus Schwarmann and Hjalmar Nordström. The brand had a transformation from traditional tailor to target the growing population of urban young city people, in the 90’s, before being sold to a Danish fashion concern, IC Companys, in 2003. This is of course the short version, of a quite extraordinary piece of fashion history.
So next time you are wearing a blazer from Tiger of Sweden, appreciate a century with tailoring craftsmanship.
And the price tag? Considering high profile campaigns and a flagship store in one of London’s most expensive shopping areas, surprisingly affordable. A maxi dress, for the Summers special occasions retails for £249. A pair of high heeled leather pumps is £179. Not bad at all when comparing to similar designers.
