100% Norway 2012

This year 100% Norway 2012 will mark its ninth year as part of the London Design Festival by relocating to a new design district, Tent in East London. The curated exhibition at Dray Walk Gallery showcases works of both established and up-and-coming Norwegian designers, as well as a number of the country’s leading manufacturers.

100% Norway’s aim is to act as a door opener for Norwegian designers and manufacturers to the British market and simultaneously build awareness of Norwegian design in the UK and internationally.
100% Norway is organised by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in London, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Norwegian Design Council, Norsk Industri – The Association of Norwegian Furniture Industry, and Innovation Norway.
The exhibition is curated by Henrietta Thompson, Wallpaper’s* Editor-at-Large and Benedicte Sunde from the Norwegian Design Council. Commenting on this year’s exhibition, Henrietta Thompson says, “Once again, 100% Norway will showcase excellence and innovation with an engaging and refreshing line-up of Norwegian designers.
In their new location at Dray Walk Gallery, 100% Norway presents an exhibition space designed by Amy Hunting and Oscar Narud which draws on a diverse range of traditional Norwegian building techniques, whilst a strong emphasis on graphics provides a contemporary twist.

A group of Norwegian music aficionados are pleased to invite you and your friends to a great gig in the sky the 17th of May. On stage is one of Norway’s most promising bands in EYE EMMA JEDI (NO/UK), the tremendously danceable DISCLOSURE and the sparkling dj CHARLOTTE THORSTVEDT. The spectacular Kensington Roof Gardens provides the surroundings, their barbecue is on fire and cold drinks are served for those who wants to celebrate the day, the arrival of summer, or just hear some great music. A great gig in the sky on the occasion of the Norwegian constitution day!
The bands are provided by the one-of-a-kind Hovefestival in Norway. Combining the best artists with on site camping, nature, beaches and idyllic surroundings, this major festival experience takes place between the 26th and 29th of June in Arendal, Norway.
