The chair by Ikea is a proper head turner. It’s a super cosy armchair, in a striking print. It’s on my wish list but it will set you back £300 -which is a lot taking the make into consideration. Nevertheless -it’s bang on trend this season!
“When I designed STOCKHOLM high back armchair I was inspired by classic wing chairs and wanted to create one that was generous and inviting, without taking much space.”
Designer Henrik Preutz, for Ikea.
Also worth taking a closer look at is the soft leather bag, by new Norwegian designer Ébeth.
Combined with the strong copper interior trend this autumn, we’ve allowed us selves to be inspired…
What have recently inspired you?
This season must have is leather, as in everything from coats and boots to skirts and shorts. The trend is to mix and match different types and colours, throw in some fur details or chunky knits, add silk or prima cotton next to skin for a feminine touch and you are set for the colder months ahead.
Munthe plus Simonsen has embraced the new trend, with a laid-back glam attitude and a edgy touch.

Michala Franck Ballieu Wiesneck was born in Copenhagen and raised in India, Spain and Southern France. She studied at Chambre Syndicale de Haute Couture Parisienne before working for top designer labels such as Christian Lacroix and Cacharel among others. In 1992 Michala was head hunted by Inwear / ICcompany Group. She stayed their for 10 years before being the creative force behind Day Birger et Mikkelsen for another 8 years. By this it became clear that the only natural next step would be to create her own label, and the story of M. Wiesneck could begin.
Autumn Winter 2013 will be her third collection and shows a eclectic mix of prints and feminine styles. We especially love the silk blouses, the leather jacket and and the tailored black leggings. Let me know what you think!
Scandinavians are always so practical, with functional outerwear. But staying dry and comfortable on a rainy day doesn’t need to mean the same as wearing a shabby old raincoat. Norwegian up and coming outerwear brand, originally known for reintroducing mens galoshes to this century, are now also creating stylish outerwear for women. Perfect for the rainy months ahead! We especially love the suede ankle boots -that are waterproof! Knee length wellies was really never stylish on your way to work anyway… And your formal pumps was simply ruined walking through puddles. The Swims high heeled boots will take you through the day, in a sophisticated way. Worth every penny! There’s different styles and lots of colour combinations. You just need to choose your favourite. Challenge: One oversized chunky knit sweater, Essie Kid in Light grey by Acne Studios for Autumn Winter 2013.
A beautiful oversized sweater is the perfect wardrobe statement when the days are getting colder and darker.
I originally received Essie Kid sweater as a gift, in size small. I’m 1.75m (5.8) tall and an average size 12. Without doubt I’m clearly a size Medium, at the least. So back in the shop, returning from the fitting room with a size medium, the shop assistant asked “How did it fit?” “Oversized!”, I replied, with a happy smile. She looked dissapointed, “So it didn’t fit?” “Uh… It’s meant to be oversized…”
Well funny shop assiants stories asaide and on with the task, how to wear a oversized sweater?
Solution: There are simple rules to follow. First off all, you need to find the right size. The sweater should end where your bum ends. No shorter, no longer than that. Wear your oversized sweater with simple monochrome trousers or leggings, so your sweater will be what catches the eye. Similar dark boots, ankle or knee is what you need to complete your outfit. A statement necklace or a beautiful scarf is also nice accessories, together with leatherbag matching your boots.
Here’s a few images, for your inspiration, on how to wear a oversized sweater in a fashionable and feminine way.
Autumn is on its way, but there’s no reason to dispair. Colder months does not euqal shabby old wollies. Or at least not according to the Oslo based Swedish fashion designer, Nina Jarebrink. With her new collection for Autumn Winter 2013 she’s introducing feminine styles inspired by the 70’s. Bold colours and sharp cuts by Nina Jarebrink, combined with a accessories line with statement jewellery pieces and contemporary leather bags, creates an ideal wardrobe for special occassions. Or everyday glamour for this decade’s Charlie’s Angels.
And doesn’t one of the models bear a strong resemblance to Carrie Bradshaw!? How clever when introducing fashion trends for the coming season. See moe at ninajarebrink.com
Designers Remix was founded in 2002 by Charlotte Eskildsen with her husband and CEO, Niels Eskildsen. Since then, they have successfully developed the company into a global brand available in stores all across Europe, Russia, Asia and the Middle East. Charlotte Eskildsen, the Creative Director of Designers Remix, has an architectural approach to every aspect of the design process. Her unique design is all about minimalism, architecture, 3D tailoring as well as draping and cutting. Although the Designers Remix show and campaign photos doesn’t really show it, the clothes are all highly feminine.
The autumn winter 2013 collection has a Diamonds are Forever theme, with effects like broken glass print on several styles. The draped jersey dress, along with simple silk shirt dresses and loose fit silk trousers are among my favourites. And the stylish pair of zipped statement pump. The list goes on… have a look for yourself, and let me know what you think at designersremix.com
A contemporary take on the classic cowboy boot, Acne’s Pistol ankle boots, is a wardrobe staple regardless of season. With a clean leather finish, curved heel and almond toe, these Swedish designer boots are made for walking. Available from all leading fashion stores, rrp £380. Available in different colours and there’s also an option with fur lining to keep feet warm in the colder months, with more colour options such as the beautiful vanilla. Just to add to the confusion. But I’ll aim for a classic pair of pistol boots. Only problem is, what colour do one choose?
