Relaxed style for SS13 by Copenhagen based designer Naja Lauf

Feminine fashion with a typical Danish laid back attitude, all in natural materials such as bamboo and silk for the highest comfort and quality. My favourite SS12 dress was the Naja Lauf Bianca dress. Wonder if I must have the Daphne dress.
And by all means -these picture don’t do the clothes justice! You need to try it on…

Anne Sofie Madsen about Fashion, Art and Society

Born and raised in Denmark, Anne Sofie Madsen studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts before graduating in 2009. She then went on to work for acclaimed trend forecasters Peclers and trained under John Galliano for Dior in Paris, then moved to London to work for Alexander McQueen as Junior Designer, before debuting with her own collection during London Fashion Week in 2010.

This season Anne Sofie Madsen was part of the Scandinavia Exhibition at London Fashion Week, counting 40 designers from the Nordic countries. Anne Sofie Madsen experiments with materials such as leather applied to a fine mesh base, built-up collars with unconventional patterns, and hand-drawn illustrations printed digitally on silk or wool fabrics. Her stand out fur couture piece for AW13, as seen in picture below, is a fine example of her design skills using traditional handcraft methods and couture techniques.

Anne Sofie Madsen has a desire to show the well-known through the un-known. The consistent play with various of materials creates a look of intriguing contrasts, which has become the young designers signature style.
A must see is the “Tiki-Mania-Maori” collection and in perhaps in particularly the illustrations from Anne Sofie Madsen, her graduation showcase from Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.

In traditional Maori art the most dominant, mythical motif is the ‘avianised man’ or ‘bird-woman’. The most important visual art forms are plaiting, relief carving and tattoo. My idea in this collection was to combine (and confront) this with classic, European clothing – in order to express the contrasts and borders between what we see as primitive/civilianized, exotic/classic and barbaric/elegant.

If money was no issue… Acne SS13 in Net-A-Porter!

Exclusive to Net-A-Porter.com The Acne paneled metallic leather mini dress is simply divine! Love the the cool colours combined in metallic space age twist. With tie fastenings along the back as an exciting detail. I would team it with bare deep blue sandals, to allow it to shine on it’s own.

Acne Rita biker jacket is one of the label’s most coveted designs, with it’s clean cut and edgy details. We love this latest black leather version, spliced with light-blue denim for a unusual look. It has a certain Spring feel to it? I would wear it with denim shorts or a simple summer dress.

Nora Norway Jewellery – Accessories in a Nordic style

I had a coffee with one of my best friends this morning, a higly talented stylist passionate about jewellery. “You need to learn how to use jewellery, and combine it with your personal style to make it work” she told me. Looking rather glamorous herself, in a pared down all grey ensemble she had simply added a statement bracelet that really did the outfit. “It’s all in the detail, you see!?” she exclaimed. I nodded but rather unsure about it. I tend to go down the safe route with my pearl or diamond stud earrings. But do they really compliment my outfit?
Fresh out of Norway is a new accessory brand, with affordable jewellery and scarfs, Nora Norway. As of recently also available in the UK. Stack bracelets and bangles in the trend colours of the season and layer up statement necklaces for a fashion-forward look. Or you can choose the more classic and vintage like pieces, very suitable for a nostalgic style.

COS Minimalistic Spring Summer 2013

COS SS13 is true to their signature look, clean cuts, structured tailoring and with attention to detailing and finish. It’s hard to believe COS is part of H&M, until you discover the price tag that is. COS is affordable fashion for the contemporary woman.
COS_SS13

I find the COS SS13 collection almost a bit too structured. But on the other hand, I’m sure there are individual pieces that are absolutely lovely within the collection. They are known for doing the jackets and coats really well. Also you can’t go wrong with loose fitting blouses and jumpers. The key is to find items you like and that will compliment the rest of your wardrobe. Also excited to see the accessories when it arrives in store. After all, this is high end finish with a highs street price tag -who can resist?

Ole YDE Spring Summer 2013 with vintage Georg Jensen jewellery

Copenhagen based fashion house YDE creates unique and distinctive Prêt-à-Porter with a fine “poetic” touch. The label presented its new collection SS13 at Copenhagen Fashion Week August 2012, runway models accessorised with gorgeous shoes by Christian Louboutin and with vintage Georg Jensen sterling silver jewellery, curated by designer Ole Yde from the Danish silversmith’s impressive archives. See more yde-copenhagen.com
The models hair in loose waves, pinned to one side and graphic eye makeup complimented the feminine styles shown at the YDE by Ole Yde runway show. YDE is clearly a brand not following the typical Scandinavian minimalistic understated style, but rather on the contrary embraces glamorous luxury pieces for women, inspired from previous Hollywood divas.
