Women’s brand Rützou having to close as quality comes at a price

rutzou_red_dress
It’s by for now from the Rützoe team. The Danish fashion brand is having to close down after 13 years since it was first launched. Rützoe has within that time become popular for it’s feminine and incredible stylish women’s collections. The original idea was to move away from fast fashion circus and rather create fashion staples that would be elegant and timeless. But with the recent years of a struggeling finical climate, it’s proven to be a challenging route to go, as quality comes at a price.

Leather! This seasons hottest trend, by Munthe plus Simonsen AW13

This season must have is leather, as in everything from coats and boots to skirts and shorts. The trend is to mix and match different types and colours, throw in some fur details or chunky knits, add silk or prima cotton next to skin for a feminine touch and you are set for the colder months ahead.

Munthe plus Simonsen has embraced the new trend, with a laid-back glam attitude and a edgy touch.

How to wear a oversized sweater -and stay chic and cosy!

Challenge: One oversized chunky knit sweater, Essie Kid in Light grey by Acne Studios for Autumn Winter 2013.
acne_studios_essie_kid_light_greyacne_studios_fall_winter_2013_knitwear

A beautiful oversized sweater is the perfect wardrobe statement when the days are getting colder and darker.
I originally received Essie Kid sweater as a gift, in size small. I’m 1.75m (5.8) tall and an average size 12. Without doubt I’m clearly a size Medium, at the least. So back in the shop, returning from the fitting room with a size medium, the shop assistant asked “How did it fit?” “Oversized!”, I replied, with a happy smile. She looked dissapointed, “So it didn’t fit?” “Uh… It’s meant to be oversized…”
Well funny shop assiants stories asaide and on with the task, how to wear a oversized sweater?

Solution: There are simple rules to follow. First off all, you need to find the right size. The sweater should end where your bum ends. No shorter, no longer than that. Wear your oversized sweater with simple monochrome trousers or leggings, so your sweater will be what catches the eye. Similar dark boots, ankle or knee is what you need to complete your outfit. A statement necklace or a beautiful scarf is also nice accessories, together with leatherbag matching your boots.

Here’s a few images, for your inspiration, on how to wear a oversized sweater in a fashionable and feminine way.

70s Hollywood glamour by Nina Jarebrink for Autumn Winter 2013

Autumn is on its way, but there’s no reason to dispair. Colder months does not euqal shabby old wollies. Or at least not according to the Oslo based Swedish fashion designer, Nina Jarebrink. With her new collection for Autumn Winter 2013 she’s introducing feminine styles inspired by the 70’s. Bold colours and sharp cuts by Nina Jarebrink, combined with a accessories line with statement jewellery pieces and contemporary leather bags, creates an ideal wardrobe for special occassions. Or everyday glamour for this decade’s Charlie’s Angels.

Acne’s Pistol ankle boots -These boots are made for walking!

A contemporary take on the classic cowboy boot, Acne’s Pistol ankle boots, is a wardrobe staple regardless of season. With a clean leather finish, curved heel and almond toe, these Swedish designer boots are made for walking. Available from all leading fashion stores, rrp £380. Available in different colours and there’s also an option with fur lining to keep feet warm in the colder months, with more colour options such as the beautiful vanilla. Just to add to the confusion. But I’ll aim for a classic pair of pistol boots. Only problem is, what colour do one choose?
