Modalu was founded in 2004 by Norwegian born Marion Muhonen Nilsen, a skilled designer with a passion for luxurious yet wearable leather handbags with a strong identity. Ms Muhonen Nilsen is originally from Ski, just North of the Norwegian capital Oslo, but currently resides in the UK. She’s an awarded designer, both in Norway and internationally.
The Modula brand really became Hot on the High Street when Pippa Middelton picked it up in Spring 2011. In fact the day after the Royal Wedding, Pippa Middleton made her debut carrying Modalu’s Bristol bag in shark gray, and the bag was swiftly renamed the Pippa bag.
The Pippa bag is a classic leather bag for work and weekends, it includes three compartments with two front zipper pockets for easy access to smaller items. It also comes with a removable shoulder strap which Pippa herself doesn’t seem to use. The bag will set you back £169, not bad compared to other bags hanging on celebrity wrists.
