Bruuns Bazaar Spring 12 -up to 75% off on timeless Danish fashion

I had breakfast with a Norwegian friend this morning in one of the trendy coffee bars in London. She had decided to ignore the horrible rain and just get on with it, dressed in a beautiful nostalgic white summer dress by Bruuns Bazaar. Launched in 1994 by two brothers, Teis and Björn Bruun, Bruuns Bazaar quickly became one of the pioneers within the Scandinavian fashion scene with affordable luxury with an understated yet sophisticated glamour. It is an elegant and modern collection of wearable investment pieces, also regularly worn by the fashion conscious Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.
Bruuns Bazaar signature style is about relaxed elegance. We think it’s lovely quality and timeless design.

Danish Fashion by Whiite for Spring 2012

Founded in 2003, WHIITE is sophisticated functionality. WHIITE’s Design Director Frederikke Hviid has an impeccable sense of style which has translated itself into eye-catching combinations created using colors, fabrics and detailing.
So far there’s only a WHIITE silky night slip in my wardrobe, given to me at a press day. But it’s the most comfortable yet stylish piece of sleep wear I’ve ever owned, so I’m on the look out for more designs from WHIITE.

@ WHIITE Spring 2012

There’s four WHIITE collections each year, with the main collections centred around Spring and Autumn. Two smaller seasonal collections are added throughout the year for Summer and Christmas.
In November 2008 WHIITE opened its first flagship store in the heart of Copenhagen, Kronprinsensgade 7 late November 2008 and it’s on my Must Visit list when I’ll be going to Copenhagen Fashion Week in August 2012.

Margit Brandt a Fashion Genius of the World

Margit Bjørløw Brandt, born 27 January 1945 in Denmark, completed an apprenticeship in tailoring at Københavns Tilskærerakademi in 1964 and took beacem an apprentice to Pierre Balmain in Paris shortly after. She met and married Erik Brandt in 1966 and as jetsetters the couple frequented the famous New York club Studio 54 where they developed close friendships with the likes of Andy Warhol, Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Diana Vreeland and Truman Capote.

Margit and Erik Brandt

Margit Brandt introduced her first collection under the label B-age together with her husband Erik Brandt at the Copenhagen Fashion Fair in 1965. The design was unprecedentedly short and close-fitted and very different from what other designers were presenting and the collection filled a gap in the market offering young women chic fashion. Throughout the 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s, Margit Brandt was a renowned global fashion brand, known for woman’s fashion, lingerie, swimwear, children’s wear, jewellery, home wear, furniture, cosmetics and fashion watches available in Harrods, Selfridges, Bendels, Saks and Bloomingdales in addition to own label stores in Paris, Barcelona, Tokyo, San Francisco, New York and London. Erik had a nose for branding and self promotion, one year the staff at the fashion fair were replaced by a red telephone with a direct line to head office. Buyers could simply call in their orders! Margit Brandt was also engaged in other unique assignments, she twice designed the official uniforms for the Danish Olympic team as well as the new gala uniforms for the Royal Danish Air Force. The brand was relaunched in 2005, staying true to its roots with fashion forward and trendsetting clothes for young women. Margit Brandt was further acknowledged for her lifelong commitment to Danish Fashion when she was knighted by the Queen of Denmark and received the Knight of the Royal Order of Dannebrog.

Margit Brandt sadly passed away because of illness October 2011.

Margit Brandt Chic Fashion for Spring 2012

Had lunch with a lovely friend the other day, that had secured some fab pieces from the Danish design label Margit Brandt from the Spring 2012 collection at Fenwick. She loved the cut, colours and were surprised how affordable it was as well. I even think the collection is on sale at the moment. So here’s the campaign images from the Copenhagen based design house.

Moods of Norway womenswear in stunning Norwegian scenery

Moods of Norway have for a long time been a very popular brand in Norway with their preppy British meets bohemian Los Angeles with a dash of flowers prints and fruity colours thrown in. The campaign images for Spring Summer 2012 is shot with the majestic Norwegian landscape as a backdrop -with an absolutely amazing result!

© Moods of Norway
Moods of Norway is a Norwegian clothing brand founded by Stefan Dahlquist, Peder Børresen, and Simen Staalnacke. Dahlquist and Staalnacke were studying at Hawaii Pacific University, when Børresen (who was an old friend of Staalnacke’s) visited. A conversation at a late night party about a fashion brand with a Norwegian twist led to the group launching the first collection in 2003. After a handful of stores in Norway, Japan, Sweden, Holland, and Switzerland, Moods of Norway opened a U.S. flagship store in May 2009 on Robertson Boulevard in Beverly Hills. The company sports the slogan “Happy Clothes for Happy People.” In 2010 the brand released their first fully electronical product, a waffle iron which made waffles shaped like tractors. However, on November 17th 2011, they asked customers via Facebook and other social media sites to return their waffle irons, stating it could be a fire hazard. If the waffle iron will return to the market is still unknown. I friend of mine still has one. She said it’s pink and fun but doesn’t work very well. Perhaps a future collectors item?!?

House of Dagmar SS12 Sophisticated and exotic

House of Dagmar is the label to wear in 2012, according to fashion bible In Style. The Spring Summer collection is greatly inspired by the relaxed Moroccan lifestyle and the colours reflects the shades of the African savannah.

Dagmar SS2012 – The modern vagabond

Dagmar SS12 includes knitted cloaks with low cut necklines, ankle length skirts and flared trousers. Details like lace knitting, braids, details in the back, blockings in colours, architectural elements and alternating sections of solid and see-through fabric are some examples on what makes these garments stand out. The prints are based on exotic patterns from the crocodile and the giraffe with the colourpallete stretching from sand, stone, bright sunlight, clouds and plants to pop colours. The shades are either a strong accent colour combined with a neutral base or tone-in-tone. Some of our favourite styles are:
